After our exploration of Petra, the wonder city, it was time to take our adventures a step further and spend two full days in the Wadi Rum desert. We had already booked our stay and tours with Bedouin Life Style, a tour service run by Attallah. Although we were doubtful about our decision, at the end we were glad that we did.
Among topics of ancient civilisation, temples and mind blowing Red sea diving, the mention of natural beauty of Egypt sometimes gets lost. Most visitors to Egypt keep their travels along the Nile which they definitely should. After all, the river is what has kept Egypt nurtured and nourished for thousands of years and has helped create its history.
However, Egypt has lot more to offer for the more intrepid travellers and what better place to go exploring than the deserts of Egypt. At about 370 kms from Cairo, lies the Bahariya Oasis, the Black and the White desert, where some exceptional experiences wait for travellers.
‘Sonar Kella’ or ‘Sone ka quila’ as it is popularly called, Jaisalmer fort is the prime attraction of the golden city of Jaisalmer. The fort and the residences in the city are made of yellow sandstone which under the gleaming sunlight makes them look as if made of gold which gives it the name of ‘Sone ka quila’ or ‘the golden fort’.
People are always happy and ready to pose for photographs.
